Are you going over board?

How will you know if you're obssessing (a bit) over a guy?

You join the orgs in which he is a member or officer.

You hacked his e-mail account and read every e-mail sent by a girl.

You befriend his orgmates, frat brods, dorm mates and block mates.

You despise his girlfriend and girl friends.

You created an anonymous friendster account which you use to view his profile and upload pictures for him.

You have more than 10 testimonials for him.

You have more than 10 pictures of him in your cellphone.

Your wallpaper on your PC is a pic of him. (an edited one with you standing next to him or something like that.)

You have a t-shirt hidden in your cabinet that bears the message: I Love (his name)

YOu hang around in the eng'g building hoping to see him while pretending you have a class for ES12.

You are learning how to play football or basketball just because it's his fave sport.

You always tell yourself and sometimes, your colleagues that you are more beautiful and smater than his girlfriend.

PROJECT: IN HOC SIGNOS (aka my 27th attempt at finishing a book)

Last November 19, I started compiling and editing for this folio with the title, In Hoc Signos Rebellion.

It will comprised of essays, stories and poems from various books and websites. I am also including some of my works. haha. I actually planned to work on my thesis this November and December pero never mind kasi I have this In Hoc SIgnos project. haha. kung pwede lang kasing ito na lang thesis ko noh!

sabi ng kapatid ko ang pangit daw ng cover. just post a comment kung may ideas kayo for the cover of my folio. (pero that sounds impossible kasi i think there are only two persons who read my blog: Jonee and Faye)

ICT Whizards Camp 2005

A.M. HAPPENINGS
Pre-pageant for Mr. & Ms. Intrams. I wasn't able to watch much of it kasi I was finalizing the lay-out of the school paper together with Sir Villanueva and Daphne. It feels so good after we burned the .pub file into the cd which will be given to the Printing Press. Can't wait to see the final output.
IN THE AFTERNOON: CULMINATING PROGRAM NG ICT WHIZARDS CAMP 2005

I am so happy with the ICT Whizards Camp. It was a success. But it's not only me who'll take the credit - other officers, ma'am jaime, sir binas-o and some other members. This is the first ICT Month in LCSSHS - kaya achievement to for me. tapos 90% student-run pa to kaya it makes me proud. most of the programs and activities kasi sa school eh faculty and admin and nag-o-organize.
and for the first time, emcee ako ng program. kahit nung nasa grade school pa ako, never akong naging emcee. Hindi man naging ganun ka-effective yung pagiging emcee ko, ayos lng.
I particularly liked our guest of honor and speaker, Mr. Rufino Macagba III. kakaiba sya. he's not like most speakers na nakatayo sa harap, naka-lean at podium habang natutulog yung audience nya. Yung "talk" nya is interactive. Tinawag pa nga nya akong ng dalawang beses. First, he asked me to define ICT. Tapos he also asked me to name an event or program na kung saan involved ang lahat ng students related to ICT syempre sabi ko itong ICT whizards camp mismo. Hindi sana yun sagot ko pero...He also gave some proposal projects for our club. one is a ilokano dictionary website and the other is a webserver for the high school wherein the students wuld all be given a chance to have a webpage or something to voice out their opinions or something like that.
tapos moment of embarassment. sumayaw kami. sabi ko pa nga "you normally see these guys and girls in the computer lab playing NFS, gunbound, programming or blogging but now we witness them perform in a intermission number. Here are the CCE officers and members.."hiyawan silang lahat.

fieldtrip aftershock.

I slept all day. totoo. kaninang 2-4 pm lang ako gising. naligo lang ako at gumawa ng project ni paul tapos tulog uli. kakagising ko nga lang kaninang 8pm para gumawa ng project ni barth. I haven't eaten anything. (yes!)
====
November 21, 2005 Monday, Fieldtrip
Tulog ako ng tulog sa bus. I just feel so tired. I mean, I had the DSPC then then tow consecutive entrance exams sa UST and SLU. Sino ba naman ang di mapapagod nyan?
I wake up nung nasa Malago na kami. mga 30 minutes before the show started. Kain ng konti, change clothes, go! maganda naman yung show. kaka-aliw yung mga birds. medyo KJ ang karamihan sa mga HS studes.
The Emperor's New Clothes. The play was very lively. pang young audiences talaga. ang pangit na lang eh super huli kaming nasundo ng bus. as in naka-alis na lahat ng iabng buses ng lorma, wala pa rin yung bus namin. mukha kaming mga nawawalang bata sa gitna ng makati. BBALL PLAYER SIGHTING #4: BJ MANALO. He was with his wife, Dianne Quisimbing. HE doesn't look that tall in personal; basta mas gwapo sa personal.
this fieldtrip was different.
useless yung cam ko. tinamad akong mag-picture. siguro dahil: I don't want to remember this fieldtrip or any part of my 4th yr hs life o baka i think na pictures are not the best way to store memories. haha. sometimes, I find it hard to understand myself and why I think and act this way.

UST Entrance Exam (sobrang dali. I will kill myself If I don't pass)
DSPC Awarding Rites (I wasn't able to attend but why attend? Hindi naman ako nanalo.. I kind of like/dislike the text message daphne sent me: 2nd kevin, ray at ako humabol sa 5th 4th ces at taung lahat for reaching division dba?! =)
Bakit kaya ako natalo? kasi medyo maganda naman yung feel ko about dun sa work. alam ko naman kasi kung kelan ako dapat umasa at kung kelan hindi. Bakit kaya ako natalo? Probably because:
1. there's something fishy about the DSPC
3. pangit talaga work ko
4. God is reserving something bigger... something greater.. something better for me. (I think you already know what I'm talking about)

3pm - card day. I finally got wish #8. I got higher grades (in majority of my subjects). bakit kaya ganun? probably because:
1. I really deserved it kasi even with the contests and other EC activities I joined, I still find time to complete my notes and submit the projects and the like.
2. I did good (in majority of the subjects) in the exams which is like 25% of my grades.
3. I wasn't able to get wish #10 & #11. Sabi nga nila, God compensates on the other.
4. God loves me lang talaga!

Division Schools Press Conference

wow.
I should have posted this yesterday but I didn't find time. I was busy with the school paper and of course, I had to watch ALIAS, my all-time favorite TV show.
Sobrang napiga yung brain ko for 1 week. Our workshop started last Monday. And while making articles, I was also reviewing for the PIChE quizbee will (finally) be on November 23. Yesterday when we arrived in ACES (aringay central elem school), they told us we need to submit at least a draft of the paper for us to qualify. Sir Villanueva was completely rattled. We decided to go back to Lorma San Juan to at least finish some pages of the paper and submit a draft tommorow. I went home to get the articles and all other neccesary stuff (including my scanner, that doesn't have a name yet). When we arrived in Lorma San Juan, kain kami agad ng lunch then it was non-stop work from 12:00 to 5:50. Naiinis pa ako dun sa technician or something. Kasi yung binigay naming paper is A4 pero yung size dapat eh 18x12. problema sa printing. di man lang nya nagawan ng paraan. naputol tuloy yung last 7 or 8 lines ng paper. tapos black and white pa.
I just have to print it. I am the associate editor. Feel ko... wala lang. ewan.
Tapos dahil sa long bong paper ko na-print, i have to cut and paste pa.
1 hour 10 mins - pag cut ng bawat bond paper (hindi to madali ha kasi 36 bond paper yun tapos di pwedeng madaliin kasi baka maging tabingi or something)
I just love our paper. di man ganun kaganda, i love it.
just look at it

yan ang hitsura nya fter mapag-piyestahan ng mga organizers and other advisers.

eto yung ibang page. basta papagandahin pa namin yan.

Today yung event ko. Feature writing, filipino. ang saya parang grade 6 uli. ok naman yung topic but I'm not expecting to win na. I've been joining the DSPC/LUJC for 6 years now. I won twice (thrice, if you count the radio broadcasting) - that's more than enough.

*special mention kami dun sa lecture ni La Julian. sabi nya "I see students in gree jogging pants . (tingin agad sa mga grade skul.) why are you here? ah.. you're not from san fernando anymore. you're already in san juan"

haha. bali-balita kasi na talo na kami kasi wala kami dun sa journalism congress ng san fernanado or something like that. eh sa san juan naman na kami kaya dun na kami sa DSPC kasali.

somehow, I can't get myself to hate lex for using words like "haye!", "hooora!" ang "enx"(thanks). if someone else have used those words on me, I would told him/her that it is so not good to hear or see. But lex, is different. ewan pero pag siya ang gumagamit ng mga words na yun, tunog "cool", tunog "astig". ewan

Mapua Entrance Exam

Thankfully, I passed the Mapua Entrance Exam. I don't know yet my score but I'm hoping that I got 80% or higher so that I could apply for Scholarship. I kind of amuses me that I qualify for BS Biotechnology, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (Triple degree). Science was never my thing. My aptitude in Chemistry is so... whatever. Sometimes, I wish that if I ever pass UP, I don't get qualified for BS ChE, I hope that I'll qualify for BS CoE or CE. But that doesn't really matter. As long as I get in to UP Diliman, I'll be fine... so fine.

My APEC members are still doing good. I hope they have uploaded the site now. I hope.

I'd like to share this cool story

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation.

Dear Son, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot.

If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren't in prison.Love, Dad

Shortly, the old man received this telegram: "For Heaven's sake, Dad, don't dig up the garden!! That's where I buried the GUNS!"

At 4a.m. the next morning,
A dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.

Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what happened, and asked him what to do next. His son's reply was: "Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It's the best I could do for you from here."

all in a day's work

Exams are over and so is my life.

Today, I took the last four exams. It was hell. Hoping of the same or higher grades for second quarter is like hoping for Julius to show up during my graduation and actually talk to me. I am going down. haha. My mom will kill me in a few days or weeks. I am so not doing the terms in our "agreement". I know this is my fault. I mean, I have been out of class since October 3. How do you expect me to know all those stuff they've discussed for a month! yeah, almost a month! But I'm not unhappy or anything like that. I mean, I chose to join all those contests and I don't regret missing classes because of those. After the people I've met and "lessons I've learned", it wasn't all bad, you know.

My APEC team members are so good. I am so relieved that they are doing great with the second activity. I made the right decision of choosing each of them. Plus, I already assigned Dominick to replace me as team leader for the mean time (as I have a lot of other activities like the CCE Week, exams and PIChE quiz bee this friday). So far, he is doing good. They are all doing great. I'm so happy to have them as members.
***
Galileo teams for the CCE quizbee are so good. Ralph, Dominick and Aldriah qualified for the finals. Danya, Joyce and Raymark, although they are really good, did not make it. They got eliminated in the tie-breaker sudden death round. But that's okay. I told Ralph a while ago, "Bakit di nyo nakuha yung Gordon Freeman? Bakit Gordon lang sagot nyo?" he answered, "kasi ang naisip ko eh yung member ng linkin park J. Gordon. 'Kala ko J. Gordon yung as half-life at si gordon freeman sa LP. baliktad pala." hahaha.
sabi pala ni ma'am jaime, mag-intermission number daw kami sa culminating program ng CCE Week, kahit ano daw, sumayaw daw kami pag kinakailangan. NO WAY!
***
I will join the PIChE quizbee this friday, November 11 (hmmm... do you remember something signifact... very significant event that happened November 11, last year? I do...) I never thought that this was my thing. haha. Since when did Ayi join a science quiz bee? never. except now. I want to win because Mama is part of PIChE. Although she's not a part of the committee for the quiz bee, I feel as though I have to prove something to her or something like that. At tsaka hindi group tong quiz bee na 'to. It's my name and reputation on the line!
Wish me all the luck in the world and may God bless me. (haha. ang selfish eh)
I wonder if there is a UP-PIChE (you know, like UP PSME. Papa is a member of PSME)

[ there was a time when I was addicted to young adult romance / romantic comedy fiction books. It opened my mind to crushes, infatuation and that absurd thing called "love". I don't know. Somehow, I'm not fascinated anymore by reading about girls who find their modern day prince charming. hindi sya kilig.]

anyways, I wrote tis post after joining a forum in peyups about the books you hate. A lot said that they hate Paulo Coelho's books, Dan Brown's books, and Sophie's world. Some said Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter. one posted:

I have to agree and disagree. After reading The Alchemist, I thought it was good, sort of inspirational nga. But now, I consider The Alchemist to be a blurry story. parang pang 10 year old reader. at first, it was close to reality pero it turned out be ewan. out of this world.

As for the Dan Brown books, ewan. I haven't read one. Pero I don't think na those books are good. I think it's the contorversies lang naman ang nagpapasikat sa mga yun eh.

P.S. Eviction night ngaun ng Pinoy Big Brother. Sana matanggal na si Sam. FilAm ata kasi sya. (di ko sure eh) The show is PINOY Big Brother. I think it should be for the full-blooded filipinos. happy halloween

but, this post is not about halloween...

a few minutes ago, I was looking up at random keepsakes from my "mahiwagang baul". here are some things I've found:

this was the diary I had for October-November 2004. I took a pic of my entry on October 23 and October 27. That was during the UP Namnama Quiz Show - Provincial level and Regional level.

October 23 - I met a cutie today. Yes, in the UP Namnama Quiz show. He's one of the facilitators. I don't know his name or anything else about him except for the fact that he's taking up Engineering. I'm guessing he's 18 years old. plus he has nice hair. at cute pa sya pag nakatalikod. anyways, I'm telling this to anyone else because they make fun of it

October 27 - Since we were sitting near the score board, I can see that the facilitators are also solving. And one of them was - JULIUS!! You know, the guy I was talking about the last time. That's him - Julius! He's taking up Civil Engineering at (I'd like to emphasize) UP Diliman. Pretty impressive....

eto naman mga calendar na I make every month (obvious ba?) simula nung feb 2005, yung mga calendars ko eh color-coded na, according to the "mood of the month". nung feb, pink kasi nga prom. nung october 2005, green kasi that's my fave color kala ko kasi pinaka-masaya ng october. clearly, I was wrong.

P.S. nasa holy garden kami kanina. may nakita ako. naka-shorts at black shirt.
