yo, dude!

seryoso. Mukha ba akong lalake?
I know I'm not girly-girl or overly kikay but I don't act that 'astigin' naman, diba? So, can anyone tell me why some guys call me "pare", "dude" and even "tsong"?

The Procrastinator's Creed (aka MY creed)

1. I believe that if
anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
2. I shall never
move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
3. I will never rush
into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
4. I shall meet all of my
deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect
to receive from missing them.
5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the
possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my
obligations.
6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable
regardless of the amount of time given.
7. I shall never forget that the
probability of a miracle, though infinitesmally small, is not exactly
zero.
8. If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.
9. I
shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my
mind.
10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or
write the first word, when I get around to it.
11. I obey the law of inverse
excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more
insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater
task.
12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is
wait/plan/plan.
13. I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget
about forever.

some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this

As Amado and I were dancing, he asked me which I enjoyed more my Junior prom or Senior prom, I answered "Junior prom"
Oh, wait, I changed my mind.
SENIOR PROM ROCKS!!!!
#####
I danced in the cotillion without tripping or my gown being stepped on. Okay, maybe once. #####
I heard my name being mentioned several times during the class will and testament. I actually don't like that. I just want to hear my name in the bequeathal of math skills or proficiency in computer. #####
In the class prophecy, I am a published writer. But aside from that, I want to be a doctor-engineer. ####
While everybody else was having their dinner, Faye, Jonee, Joanna and I decided to have our pictures taken. When we returned to the hall, everybody was already finished eating dinner

#####

picture perfect! oh, okay, not so perfect. #####

After that, the lights dimmed. First song. First dance. Like last year’s promenade, I didn’t dance during the first song. Oh, that is just sad. But wait, the next song is coming up. #####My first dance. #####

First dance ko si Aaron. #####

#####

#####

#####

#####

After that, #####. Wow talaga. Bakit ba ang swerte ko?! #####

#####

#####

Ngeks.#####
Nominated pala si Morris para sa Mr. Senior. Si Danya at Wilfredo and Mr. and Ms. Senior. #####

Tapos, sinayaw din ako ni Jorge, James at Bernard.

Tapos, Ladies’ Choice dance na! si Morris ang Lady’s choice dance ko. A tapang a girl! He told me he was kind of nervous during the announcement of Mr. and Ms. Senior. Akala nya kasi may question and answer! #####

#####

Tapos sinayaw ako ni Amado at Raymark. Si Raymark ang Mr. Wisdom at si Daphne ang Ms. Wisdom. #####

Eto ang unexpected: Ladies’ Choice ulit. Wala sa plano to a. #####“Dominick, ikaw na lang lady’s choice ko…” “ha! Eh di ginawa mo na akong palaman!” During the dance I just thanked him for #####

Tapos last 5 songs na. Wala nang gustong magsayaw sa akin. So technically, last dance ko si Dominick. #####

#####

Events during the prom were so unexpected. ##### Then I danced with ##### #####haha. It was a perfect prom, after all. I let that sink in for a while.

Then I went to get my prom souvenir from my adviser, Ma’am Garabiles. She told me “ay, nakita ko kanina kung sino ang kasayaw mo sa Lady’s Choice!”. I was like “oo nga, o diba, ma’am ang tapang ko!”

#####

As for me, I do not regret #####. I can look back and say that I don’t regret any of it. I can just sigh a relief that I have memories of my senior prom which I could cherish forever. I can recall every second of ##### without batting an eyelash – as if through somebody else’s eyes, I can see myself looking at #####. Like every magical moment is unfolding before my eyes. ##### close to me. I can recall the whole prom night with a big smile etched on my face. Words are not enough to describe how magical the prom is.

As sugarfree’s ‘prom’ goes, “ito na’ng gabing di malilimutan…”
(NOTE: ##### -means that some lines were deleted from my personal journal entry so as to protect the innocent, namely, me)

Pre-prom jitters part 2

Iba pa rin talaga ang excitement ng first JS prom.
Hindi ako ganun ka-excited.
I somewhat feel guilty because of what I did today at our prom rehearsal. I was kind of worried that my partner in the cotillion, Benjoe would not show up during the prom. I mean, he hardly attends practices. Anyways, the remedy I thought of was to have a back-up partner. I was thinking of James or Morris. But it won't be that easy to convince them. Then I thought of Marvin. I thought he was okay because it'll be easy to teach him the steps and that he can ebe asily convinced. What I didn't realize was Ichie will be partnered with Marvin during the first part of the cotillion. I really feel bad since Ichie was already crying after the rehearsal. Please, benjoe, come to the prom tomorrow.
Nga pala, ###### is online right now. I am thinking of telling him that I'll ask him to dance with me during the Lady's choice dance. haha. baka maunahan eh. ay, wag na lang, dyahe. pano pag sabihin nyang ayaw nya. ngeks. pero gusto ko magsasayaw kami! aaacccckkkk!!!
magfoo-foot spa pa sana ako pero nakakatamad eh.

pre-prom jitters

"Ma'am/Sir, pwede bang wag na tayong magklase ngayon, malapit na prom eh?"

wa-epek. We just can't get teachers to stop thinking about school stuff just because of the prom. We can't "stop the world" just because the prom is fast approaching.

February 14 Syndrome

"Ma'am [Garabiles], pwede bang wag na tayong magklase ngayon... valentines day naman eh"

What a great way to start the day. I just checked my e-mail and read about a dozen or so forwarded messages about love, dating, sex and other stuff that are "mabenta pag valentines".
This is what fascinated me the most:

TOP 20 REASONS TO DATE AN ENGINEER
1. High starting salary
2. Free body diagrams
3. Can help you with your math homework
4. Parents will approve
5. Can teach you the motion of rigid bodies
6. Knows how to handle "stress" and "strain" in a relationship
7. The world revolves around us..we pick the coordinate system
8. Can teach you what those other buttons on your calculator do
9. Engineering "couples" have better "moments"
10. Can go all night without a hint of fatigue
11. Always willing to experiment
12. Engineers do it to a specification
13. Learn about the benefits of friction and viscosity
14. Trained to do it right the first time
15. Can design and build larger erections
16. Can do it with more torque
17. Know how to test rigid cantilevers
18. Projectile motion: need to say more?
19. We know the "right hand rule"
and finally...
20. It's not the length of the vector that counts, but how the force is applied!!!
One would think that I find this fascinating because of a certain Engineering student whom I like but it's not that. I actually find it interesting because my parents are engineers. Plus my brother and I want to become engineers someday.

I got strawberry Shortcake

No cheating. If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose? Pick your dessert, then look to see what Psychiatrists think about you! (Sorry you can only pick one)

OK - Now that you've made your choice, scroll down to see what research says about you!
ANGEL FOOD CAKE ... Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.
BROWNIES... You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of under dogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your sabre. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.
LEMON MERINGUE... Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.
VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING... Fun-loving, sassy, humorous. Not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.
STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE... Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. You tend to melt. You can be overly emotional and annoying at times.
CHOCOLATE ON CHOCOLATE... Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.
ICE CREAM... You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.
CARROT CAKE... You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends.

Did you notice my sideblog? There are times when I can't access blogger (perhaps because of site maintenance and other such stuff) and don't have much to say, so I just put those posts in sideblog. Hope you read my sideblog.

The official pronunciation of my name, Danielle, is danyəl . (my mom doesn't like it). And the official spelling of my nickname is AYE. not ayi, not ayee.
