Countdown to 08!

I haven't updated this blog in a while. I'm not busy; I just don't have regular access to the internet. So far, masaya ang Christmas vacation (if you just ignore the fact that I haven't started studying Moment of Forces and Equilibrium of Forces or started working on CLW 5 or started studying about Matrices, Determinants and Permutations in Math 114. Hay. Profs shouldn't give exams right after X'mas vacation or take-home lab works kasi we're supposed to have a "vacation")

Anyway, ayun nga, masaya ang Christmas ko. I guess kasi hindi naman ako ganun masyadong nakakauwi dito sa amin so Ireally enjoy it when I'm with my family.

Tsaka I have this one simple Christmas wish na natupad. Sobrang nakakaaliw how simple little gestures could bring so much happiness :) hihi

Last saturday, Jonee, Faye, Joanna, Ichie and I had this get together. Ayun, as usual, kwentuhan, kainan, arcade and stuff. Masaya din kasi super dalang din na magkitakita kami at tuwing sembreak, X'mas break lang kami nagkikita.

Tapos kahapon, nag-champion ang harbour center batang pier sa PBL. at si Ty Tang ang Finals MVP! yey!

Happy Vacation

Sembreak ko na.
Haha. Ang bilis. Bakit ganun? Kung kelan naman medyo nae-enjoy ko na, biglang, ayun, tapos na. Anyway, ok na rin. Goodbye to haggard-ever kulang-sa-tulog(?), shocks-ang-dami-dami-namang-pinagagawa days. I'm working on my Math 54 project. As in eto na lang ang unfinished 1st sem business ko and I'll be in UP on Thursday to submit said project and get my lab reports and exam 3 in EEE 13.

Last Sunday, I attended Joanna's Debut. Yung 18 roses and candles were my old schoolmates. Haha. Matagal ko din silang di nakita at hindi rin naman ako madalas makibalita or text them or anything. At first, I was seated with Joan, Hazel, Thea, Daphne, Danya, Joyce and Ate Janet. So ayun, kamustahan and everything. "San ka nagaaral? Anong course?" When Joan learned that I'm studying in UP, she asked about the Criz Mendez issue, she was particularly interested with the frat involved, tinanong kung kilala ko sila at kung violent nga ba, stuff like that. I told them na I don't know anyone from Sigma Rho and about the Cris Mendez issue, well, on going pa naman ang investigation (yun ang alam ko, tama ba?) and it's unfair if we already conclude anything eh wala pa namang napapatunayan. and na at the same time, unfair din na i-generalize na violent ang mga frats. The thing is, ang napapabalita kasi sa tv ay yung mga frat rumbles and the like but somehow, yung mga other project ng mga frats doesn't interest the media. Laging yung negative side lang ang napapakita. This is not to say na we should disregard yung frat violence. All I'm saying is that, there's more to fraternities than just frat wars and hazing.
You would think na dahil debut ito, hindi mapag-uusapan ang mga ganyang topics, pero oh well, hindi.
Fun din. Tawanan lang kami dun sa table. Tapos nung tapos na yung program proper, wala lang, hang-out, picturan and stuff.

Speaking of birthdays, in a few weeks, I'll be turning 18. (aaa. puwede bang magfast forward at maging 23 na lang ako agad? haha.) But I just don't feel like I'm turning 18. Kasi parang sort of your, you're becoming a lady na, an adult. Wala lang, I just don't have that "feel of maturity and reponsibility" that comes with turning 18.

And normally, I'd have a thousand wishes for my birthday. But this year, pumasa lang ako sa 33 at 54 super masaya na ako. at sana nga pala...:)

This week is officially my hell week. I have three exams (EEE34 yesterday which was um, disappointing; Kas1 tomorrow and EEE33 on Saturday). I actually have a paper to submit on Kas 1 regarding one of the lectures/forums during the History week but I arrived late and people were already leaving CM Recto Hall. Tinatamad na rin naman akong magsulat ng paper at tsaka I have a lot to study in EEE33 (as in super dami nung coverage ng exam and sobrang hirap intindihin) pero actually, tinatamad na rin ako sa EEE33. Nae-excite nga akong gawin yung lab02 (BST) sa EEE13 eh but Ian pointed out to me na next week Monday pa ang deadline nun so may time pa naman at pwedeng magfocus muna sa 33.

Yesterday, nagpicture-taking sa ERG. Actually, one of the trademarks of ERG ay ayun nga, game na game, hyper sa mga picturan. So medyo maingay, magulo at oh well maraming tao sa tambayan at parking lot. Dapat hindi na ako sasali sa pictorial because I still don’t have my erg72 shirt. I even hesitated to go to the tambayan nung umaga (I didn’t have any class in the morning) because I know na all of them would be wearing the black shirt so parang wooo outcast ako. Thankfully, nakuha ko rin yung shirt ko so sumali na rin ako sa picture taking (na kung saan bida si Baby Tee… wooo. Arvin, joke lang. peace ^_^). The pictures will probably be uploaded sa ERG website. Hehe. Wala lang, if ever lang gusto niyong makita.

Tapos this afternoon, may activity din dun sa isa kong org, Sillag. Sumali kami dun sa clean-up ng Haribon. I originally planned on joining the morning batch pero I opted na lang to join the 3-5PM clean-up kasi I have a clas at 10AM (Bowling) eh I probably wouldn’t have time to get ready and go to Ever. Tapos I heard din kasi na the apps (weee… may apps na) would be in the 3-5PM bacth so ayun, I want to meet them kasi I wasn’t able to attend the orientation a (few) week(s) ago.

And after the clean up until Saturday, my whole life will revolve on EEE33. I hardly have three days to study the whole chapter 5 and 6. Kung akala niyong exaggeration ko lang yung wala akong naiintindihan sa First Order Networks at Higher Order Networks, oh well nagkakamali kayo. Seryoso ako. Please pray for me na sana malagpasan ko ang pagsubok na ito sa buhay ko. Kasi during the start of the sem parang I told myself na if I fail in EEE33 eh parang that’s kind of a sign na oh well… Pero I’m not giving up kasi I want to stay in CoE, in EEE kasi ewan, I just want to be here and I can’t imagine myself in any other department (pero actually, may “back-up course” na ako pero super super last resort yun). So ayun nga, I’m not giving up kasi may tatlo pa namang exams and finals so FIGHT! (pati din pala sa 34, FIGHT!)

Anyway, last week na pala ng August, my supposedly “happy month”, though I’m not sure kung “happy” nga ba ang buwan na ito. Surely, I didn’t have those “wooo. Ang lungkot talaga ng buhay ko” moments pero wala rin namang moments na fun, exciting at super ecstatic (except probably for those few times na basta yun na yun). Pero actually, ok na rin. I mean, nagawa ko naman yung mga resolution chorva ko like I wouldn’t drink any soda (kasi sobrang pala-softdrink ako dati) and I have perfect attendance in all of my subjects. Yeah, so far, wala pa akong absent which is super achievement for me kasi ako yung type ng student na mag-aabsent nang walang dahilan lalo na pag di ko trip yung subject (madalas sa GE) o hindi nagchecheck ng attendance yung prof.

Ilang araw na lang, September na and hindi ko alam kung anong pakulong gagawin ko sa buhay ko pero most probably, lie-low muna sa mga chrovang “happy month” and the like kasi diba more or less one monthe na lang at matatapos na ang sem. Syet, ang bilis. Kailangan ko nang ayusin ang buhay ko.

Classes are suspended again. Ano ba yan, since Wednesday pa walang pasok (well, actually, we still pushed through with the practical exam in bowling since relatively, marami na rin naman yung mga students na nandun, sayang naman yung effort namin sa pagpunta, late kasi yung announcement ng suspension of classes).

I’m not entirely happy with this kasi this means more make-up classes eh ang sabog pa nung mga nagiging schedule ng mga make-up classes. Tapos I’m also afraid na maisipan ng mga prof na hirapan yung exam namin (sa EEE13 on Aug 25 at EEE33 some time this August din) kasi feeling nila sobrang aral na kami.

I’m not exactly using this “free time” wisely. Parang I’d browse my lecture slides, try to solve the problem set tapos after 30 minutes, I’d decide na mag-rest tapos I’d sleep or watch TV or play sudoku for about an hour. Mas marami pa yung tulog, nood at kain ko kaysa mga nagagawa ko na “acad-related”. Tapos dun naman sa probset, parang dalawa pa lang yung nasasagutan ko. Seriously. I’m not even that confident about my answers. When I go over the lecture slides, nagegets ko naman siya but when I try to solve the probset, parang ang alien nung dating niya sa akin, I don’t know what to do to solve it. I am so lost in 33. I am so dead.

Haha. Pansin niyo, most (if not all) of the posts here in my blog are about the subjects I’m taking. Shocks. I don’t have a life.

I remember one meeting in our EEE13 lab when Ma’am Dae asked us who if we still get 8 hours of sleep and there was a loud and collective answer of “hindi” and then she asked who among us still get 8 hours and I raised my hand and my classmates when like “ows?” or something. It kind of bothered me na talagang after nung class sobrang napaisip ako if I allot enough time for my studies. I wrote down my weekly schedule and computed the number of hours I could allot for my studies that will allow me to have 8 hours of sleep, an hour or two for rest or whatever and of course maybe an hour for dinner and lunch. I computed like 37 hours of “aral time”. (note: allotted time lang yan, hindi naman siguradong nag-aaral ako sa span of time nay an eh :) )Enough naman yun diba? Haha. Hindi naman pala ako abnormal. I guess that works kasi I don’t have a life. I don’t have friends or barkada na I would hang-out with. I’m not active in my org. I spend a lot of time alone.

But these past few weeks, on the average, I only get like five or six hours of sleep. So ayos na rin. Normal na rin ako. Yey!

Hay, I don’t know what to do. Taltong araw na bakasyon. Yeah, tatlo lang kasi I have a make-up class in Math 54 on Monday. I want to finish reading Harry Potter 7 na pero wala lang parang di ko feel. Gusto kong panooring yung movie na Parang-juuibo pero kamusta naman, di ko mabasa yung subtitle. Gusto ko rin pa lang panoorin yung A Love Story. Pero. Kasi. Ang lamig. Nakakatamad.

It’s Ate Lourdes’ birthday this Sunday and we celebrated yesterday. Nagulat pa nga kami ni Joanna nung may dumating na food kahapon. Feeling namin guni guni lang namin yun at binalik na naming wag antayin si ate, kainin agad yung cake kasi baka mawala pa. Haha. Happy birthday, ate Lourdes!

Sobrang Meant To Be

May crush ako, na tatawagin nating white ranger. Nakatdhana daw siya sa isang babaeng may pangalang pink ranger. Nung umuwi ako sa amin last weekeng, sinabi ng pinsan kong si Jing2 sa akin “ate, alam mo ang bagay mong pangalan eh fuschia ranger.” Mga dalawang minuto pa ang lumipas bago nag-sink-in sa akin na yung sinabi niyang pangalan eh derivative nung pangalan ni pink ranger. Waaaa. Hindi kilala ni Jing2 si White Ranger at dalawang tao pa lang ang napagkukwentuhan ko nung tungkol sa mga tadhana chorva at hindi ko nga sinabi sa kanila yung pangalan ni Pink Ranger at wala rin naman silang paraan upang contact-in si Jing2 at pagtrip-an ako. Kaya, diba, sobrang meant to be!!!

Last weekend din, I was working on the second problem set in EEE33. Nahihirapan na ako so I texted some of my classmates regarding some items in the probset. I was quite surprised na they haven’t started answering the prob set. I was like “Syet. Ang galing naman nila. Ilang araw na akong nagproprobset tapos parang bukas na kaya ang submission tapos di pa kayo gumagawa!! Halimaw!!” Monday morning, I asked Daniel, one of my Math 54 classmates, if he’s already done with the probset and he answered “hindi pa ako nagsisimula”. Para akong napa-“shocks. Ano ba!!! Mamaya na kaya submission. Ang galing niyo naman. Sasagutan niyo lang in a few minutes?!!!” Then he pointed the clearly printed note in my probset: DEADLINE: AUGUST 9, 2007. oo nga naman. Sayang ang effort kong tapusin ang probset. Banas na banas ako kasi balak ko pa naman magsubmit sana ng mga lab reports on time this month pero hindi ko na tinuloy kasi nga kinailangan kong tapusin ang prob set. Oh, well. Be happy.

Yesterday, Ma’am Dae announced that she wouldn’t be handling our EEE13 class anymore. She made us choose which lec class schedule (M/Th 10-12NN or F 4-6pm). Of course, I took the F4-6PM class. Malungkot kasi I arranged my schedule in such a way that I don’t have long hour breaks and that I always get to go home early (except on Tuesdays). Pero actually, ayos na rin sa akin. Sir Tai would be handling our lab class and hopefully, he’d also handle the lec class. Hay, sana T4-6pm pa rin. Haha.

Today, I had two exams - EEE33 and Math 54. I did good in EEE33 (I think). Masisira ang buhay ko pag bumagsak ako sa exam. I’m kind of disappointed with Math 54 kasi sobrang totally lost ako. Parang kagabi, sobrang nagmemorize ako nung mga formulas and stuff pero waaaa. sobrang nakalimutan ko na nung exam kung ano yung mga general/standard form ng mga conic sections, paano magconvert from cartesian to polar form, symmetry tests, pano yung mga tangent lines, eccentricity. waaaa. basta ang dami kong di matandaan. lagot lagot.

Here comes the "happy days".

Yesterday, the first day of August, the first song I heard is "Moonlight Over Paris". Shocks. Kinilig naman ako. Wala lang. I had PE class and though I had a relatively low score, it's okay because I enjoyed the game naman (haha. dinadaan na lang sa "enjoyed the game" ang score na 32 sa 1 game.) Tapos nakasalubong kami nung guy who's always making sungit to me. I smiled at him and he, um, just walked past me.

Today, We didn't have a class in EEE33 (hmmm... May kinalaman ba ang Trinoma dito? haha. Joke lang po) so I went to my boarding house and packed my things. I've decided to skip Math class so that I could pack na and leave right after my classes but I remembered that I have this sort of resolution na I wouldn't be absent in any of my classes. Haha. It's one of my bad habits. Madalas akong mag-absent dahil trip ko lang, tinatamad.

We had a quiz in English 30. it was announced last meeting but well, I forgot about it. When I arrived in PH325, I saw some people reading notes. I thought they were just preparing for recitation or maybe they're going to report but well, my seatmate told me na may quiz ngayon. Syempre, super cram. Well, I really didn't need to read my notes. There was a story about a company conflict whatever and there were just three questions that we're supposed to answer. I somehow have a difficult time answering the paper. Wala lang. Kasi when it's not objective, I always find the things I write to be stupid or something.

Anyway, I'm supposed to get a new haircut this weekend but I came home to La Union so baka sa Monday na lang ako magpapagupit as a part of the "8 new things about me".

Math 54 classes resumed today. "Nag-aral ba kayo?" ang pagbati sa amin ni Ma'am Bargo. "Dali, 1/4" Sinulat niya ang salitang "QUIZ" sa black board. Syet. Ano'ng gagawin ko, wala na akong natatandaan sa mga past lectures namin sa 54. Habang naghahanap ako ng yellow pad sa bag ko, bigla niyang sinabi "joke" lang. A loud and collective "hay..."

EEE33. Sir Benjo skipped a lot of slides dun sa lectures, sabi niya yung mga dc instructors na lang daw ang magdidiscuss ng mga yun. The second long exam was originally scheduled on Saturday but was cancelled since we only had three meetings to cover the topics. Surprisingly, today we were able to finish discussing Chapter 4, the coverage of the exam. A few minutes before we were dismissed, Sir Benjo said "So, the exam on Saturday will push through". Syempre "waaaa" ang buong klase. Joke lang din yun.

Talo ang La Salle. Huhu Ano ba yan?! Nakakabanas. Umuwi pa naman ako ng maaga para manood pero well, ok lang. cute pa rin naman sila.
