I just miss my LGS (Lorma Grade School) days.

Lormayam kasi ng LGS ngayon at buong araw kong naririnig yung beat nung drum. Nakaka-miss. Compared sa High School Intramurals, para sa akin, mas masaya pa rin ang LORMAYAM. Sa intrams kasi, ang mga laro ay basketball, volleyball at kung anu-ano pang sports. Sa Lormayam, mga obstacle race, sack race, eating contest at kung anu-ano pang similar games. Masaya kasi pwedeng sumali lahat, hindi mga athletes lang. hindi kailangan ng jersey.

Sa lormayam, ang ka-team mo ay galing ng ibang grade kaya mas na-dedevelop yung ties with younger/older student. sa intrams, dahil ka-team mo ay ka-year mo, "kalaban" yung ibang year. mas nag-aaway away.

tsaka mas pa-easy easy ang buhay nung nasa grade school pa lang ako. (I know this is not right to say kasi dapat I should face the problems I have now that I am older pero basta, minsan gusto kong bumalik sa pagkabata kasi hindi ganito ka-komplikado noon.)

Pwede mong ibigay yung camera mo kay guy best friend at hinging kunan ka ng picture habang kasayaw si Crush X. Para may remembrance ka nung ilang minutong naka-tingin ka lang sa mata nya habang pilit mong pinipigil ang sarili na sumigaw ng “syet! January Woe

I don't have much blogging time now. I have a lot of unfinished projects and unsolved problems. But it's not that. I am becoming lazy. I feel lazy to get up everyday and attend classes in school.

random musings

I've read a blog about how this certain blogger dislikes Patricia Evangelista's column in the Inquirer. She says "While some columnists do the best they can to produce rigorous analysis of socio-political conditions, others like Ms. Patricia Evangelista of the Philippine Daily Inquirer use the medium haphazardly for her own self-gratification." Siguro that's because Patricia finds inspiration or essence in writing from her own experiences. She tells stories of her life, not for her own self-gratification, but as a form of self-expression.

I actually look up to her. Not a lot of youngsters are given that space for expression especially in a national newspaper like the PDI.

There was also a comment na "The host mentioned that she was Patricia Evangelista and that she won the ESU award. The first thing that hit me was, what kind of award did she earn and why is she getting so much recognition for it."

We can't deny that a lot of doors opened for Patricia after winning in the ESU. she became a host in a show in ANC, breakfast in Studio 23, writer for the Phil. star before becoming a columnist for the Phil. Daily Inquirer. Pero di pa rin sya ganun kapansin.

I'll bet na only a tenth of the Lorma pop. knows her. Mas sikat pa rin ang mga tulad ni Jasmine Trias na Pilipino by blood (I'm Ilocano, believe me - Jasmine Trias, see PDI, Entertainment section, Jan. 12) pero lumaki naman sa kultura ng ibang bansa kaysa ang katulad ni Patricia Evangelista na may mga ideyang dapat pakinggan, ideals that "reminder for all of us who are losing our trust and love for our beloved country"

**Anyways, I passed the ACET (Ateneo College Entrance Test). I didn't qualify for my first choice course, BS Physics with Applied Computer Systems, which is an Honors program. I qualified for BS-MAC. I don't even know what BS-MAC means. I have already forgotten my second, third and fourth course. I called Mama that afternoon and she said it's BS Math with Computational Science. whatever.

This morning, I woke up with this realization:

Dati, takot ako na baka sa future hindi ako maging successful, na wala akong magiging trabaho at aasa pa rin sa magulang. Hindi na ako ngayon takot dun. Ngayon, takot ako na sa future makita ko yung mga kaklase o ka-iskwela ko dati - yung mga tinuturing kong mentally incompetent (bobo), exhibitionist (pasikat), immature at irresponsible (lower 40) at superficial (some of the upper 40) - e mas mataas ang sweldo o mas sikat pa sa akin.

Yesterday, I had to commute from Lorma San Juan to SLC. When I arrived at SLC, I thought I heard someone shout my name, "Ayi". The first person that came to my mind was A. But that's a bit far-fetched because as far as I can remember, A calls me "Danielle", not "Ayi". Only a few people call me "Danielle". I love that.

Great Teacher Onizuka and other random posts

Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) on GMA

Somehow, I can not believe that GMA is airing it. I know that a lot of kids are watching animè on GMA. I’ve already watched the five chapters of GTO and there are actually a lot of scenes from GTO that are not meant for kids to view. Yesterday, when I watched the first episode of GTO aired by GMA, I noticed that they’ve cut some scenes. They only left the scene that showed Onizuka, one of his students wearing only her undies and a bunch of other students taking their picture to blackmail Onizuka.
In other episodes, there will be a lot of scenes like that. One scene shows Fukuroda (another teacher) touching girls’ butts during PE class. Another episode shows Onizuka, claiming to be cursed, totally naked as one of his students (a girl, mind you) write stuff all over his body claiming it would protect him from the curse.
Though GTO is a fascinating and interesting story (the fact that a teacher smokes in his class, shoots ‘water canons’ at fellow faculty members and beats up students who pisses him off amuses me), in my opinion, it is not proper to air such show that bears theme of sexuality especially when the target audience of this show are kids.
